How it works
Botox diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by blocking the nerve signals to the repetitive movement of the muscles. When injected into specific muscles, it causes them to relax, soften and no longer contract. This treatment is quick and requires no anesthesia or downtime.

FAQs
We carry Botox and Dysport.
All the products we carry and use are approved by Health Canada.
Every Botox treatment starts with a consultation with our nurse injector at The Clinica. During this consultation process you’ll discuss your concerns, questions, and beauty goals. Together, you and your nurse injector will create the best course of action, including the amount of units needed to achieve your skin goals. Everything during the consultation will remain confidential.
Please inform your nurse injector of all other treatments you’ve done to ensure that Botox is safe to perform and will not interfere or create risk.
After your consultation with the nurse, the injections themselves will be a fast process. You can expect the whole session to last about 30 minutes with the option to numb the area with our numbing cream. The nurse may want to schedule a follow-up appointment within the next couple of weeks to check up on your results and satisfaction. This is a great opportunity to maintain your results.
Every individual will experience different results. However, usually it takes two weeks for full results to appear. Average results last between 3-4 months. For best results, follow the instructions given by your nurse injector.
Botox is injected into the muscle. Your body metabolizes this toxin over time.
This won’t cause any issues. Botox can be stopped at any time and your face or body will return to where you started over time.
A unit is simply the way the injectable product is measured to ensure your treatment is always consistent. The exact number of units you will need to achieve your desired look will be determined in your private consultation.
People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have allergies, infections and/or nerve disorders shouldn’t use Botox. It’s extremely important to share every detail about your health history, allergies, and medications with your nurse injector.
Common side effects include minor bruising and headaches. However, most patients don’t experience side effects at all. The nurse injector will go over all the possible side effects and things to avoid after the treatment during your consultation.
The incidence of a drooping eyelid occurs in less than 1% of people and usually goes away on its own within a few weeks
Our nurse injectors are highly experienced and knowledgeable. They will inform you with the amounts of units being used, where it will be injected and what the results will be. The nurse ensures you are comfortable with the process before starting the process.
